Full Ceramic Si3N4 Ball bearing
The ceramic ball bearings shown in the dimension table below have rings and balls made from silicon nitride (Si3N4). These silicon nitride bearings are available from stock in the Tarso company without a cage (full complement) or with cages made from PEEK. We can also offer our ceramic bearings with PTFE or 316 stainless steel cages.These are non magnetic, non-conductive and extremely corrosion resistant to most chemicals although not suitable for shock/impact loads due to the more brittle nature of the material. Silicon nitride full complement bearings can be used up to 800°C while bearings with a PEEK cage can cope with temperatures of up to 250°C. PTFE and 316 stainless steel cages are used for temperatures down to approximately -200°C. The standard radial play for our silicon nitride bearings is C3 but other options can be supplied on request.

Full Ceramic ZrO2 Ball bearing
The full ceramic ball bearings listed below are supplied with rings and balls made from zirconium dioxide (ZrO2). These zirconia bearings are available as full complement (no cage) or with cages made from PTFE, PEEK or 316 stainless steel.
These are non magnetic, non-conductive and highly corrosion resistant to most chemicals although ZrO2 bearings are not recommended for prolonged contact with steam. Full complement bearings or those with a 316 stainless cage can be used up to 400°C while bearings with a PEEK or PTFE cage can cope with temperatures of up to 250°C. For temperatures below -70°C, PTFE or 316 stainless steel cages are preferred. Standard radial clearance for full ceramic bearings is C0 but other clearances can be supplied to order.
Our zirconia ceramic bearings are available from stock in the China open or with PTFE/PEEK seals. Some sizes may also be available flanged.
ZrO2 ceramic bearings are generally used for their extreme temperature capabilities, excellent corrosion resistance or non-magnetic properties. Other sizes can be supplied on request.
Hybrid Ceramic Ball Bearing
The hybrid ceramic ball bearings shown in the dimension table below have stainless steel rings and ceramic balls. The rings are made from AISI440C, 304 or 316 stainless steel. The ceramic balls are made from ZrO2, Si3N4 or Sic.These hybrid ceramic bearings are available from stock in the Tarso company without a cage (full complement) or with cages made from PTFE. We can also offer our hybrid ceramic bearings with PEEK or 316 stainless steel cages.
The hybrid ceramic bearing balls has the advantage of low density,low friction, high strength, electricity & magnet resistance and lubricant free. 1.5 times up high speed compare with stainless steel bearing. Life time increase 2 or 3 times compare with stainless steel bearing. Applicable for temperature up to 220â.
